Options for New Patients

bulletCondition-based Visits
bulletComprehensive or Extensive Visit

Your first visit will include a review of your medical history as well as a physical examination both as a preventative measure and as a way to ascertain your health status. Dr. Helms will focus on your particular interests or concerns and will work with you to find underlying causes. He often uses acupuncture and neuro-facial release during the first visit as a treatment, but also to access your body’s energetic strengths/weakness (also known as the vital force, Qi, or prana).

Choosing the Best New Patient Option

Acute conditions often push us to see the doctor whether we have had symptoms for a day or a few weeks.  Schedule a “conditions-based” visit if your concerns have not lasted more than 3 months.  In conditions-based visits a new patient will have a focused medical history and examination, individualized treatment, and a patient-specific treatment plan.  Treating your condition as well as stopping the pattern and its history is the point of naturopathic medical care. Completing all of the intake form will help guide Dr. Helms to relate your present concerns to your past concerns.

If you have a chronic condition – one that has lasted more than 3 months – then your body is falling apart, or more medically, has “decompensated.”  Unfortunately, we often treat our car with more respect than our body.  There is no sounder use of our time and money than investing in our health.

Established Patient Office Visits

Subsequent (follow-up) visits evaluate progress towards your health goals and are scheduled initially at four-six week intervals to update and revise your treatment plan. Established patient visits range from Brief ($45) to Extended ($180).

Separate treatment schedules and payment arrangements may be agreed upon as part of your treatment plan.

We always want to know how much a visit will cost ahead of time.  Unfortunately, this is often difficult and can change as your body heals.  Unless there is an agreed upon treatment regime that needs to be completed, it is only after Dr. Helms sees you that can he advise you on the best course of treatment on your path to wellness.  Dr. Helms will work with you to combine procedures (acupuncture, IV therapy, trigger point injections, manipulation and neuro-fascial release) with medicines (herbs, homeopathics, pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements) in a way that is most beneficial for you and your lifestyle.
